Ibiza Closing Parties 2017
It’s hard to believe, but yet another glorious Ibiza summer season is coming to an end. It’s been another exceptional summer, which has brought with it all of the usual thrills and spills of a heady Ibiza season, however, it’s not over yet.
Whilst the island may seem slightly quieter than in the height of August, the party is far from finished as the island prepares to bid farewell to summer 2017 in its own inimitable style. The Ibiza Closing Parties are quite simply legendary. A chance for the clubs to thank their faithful followers and for the superstar DJ’s to pull out all the stops to ensure that they make the night one you will never forget.
For die hard clubbers, this is the grand finale of the year, and we have no doubts that this year the closings will be bigger and better than ever before. The only problem you will have is how to fit them all in! Below are a few of our favourites to help you with your party planning.
Craig David TS5 Closing Party @ Ibiza Rocks Hotel – Thursday 21st September
One of the biggest surprise runaway successes of the season has been the Pool Parties hosted by Craig David at the Ibiza Rock’s Hotel. Having enjoyed a phenomenal career revival in recent years, Craig David has taken Ibiza by storm, with his weekly pool parties being sold out weeks in advance throughout the summer. An unpretentious, fun and friendly vibe is they secret to their success, and the man himself will be taking centre stage for one final time in 2017 on Thursday 21st September. He will be joined by Tonga and Patrick Nazemi, plus the resident Ibiza Rocks DJ’s. This is bound to be a roadblock so be sure to buy your tickets in advance!
Glitterbox @ Hi Ibiza Closing – Friday 29th September
Hi Ibiza opened this year with very big shoes to fill, standing as it did on the hallowed grounds of the much mourned superclub Space. However, the cutting edge sound and lighting systems, forward thinking design and stellar cast of international DJ’s have well and truly won the hearts of the clubbing world. One of the biggest hits of the summer has been Friday’s Glitterbox parties. A heavenly mix of dirty disco and sexy, soulful house have attracted big crowds week after week. The Glitterbox team will be saying a fond farewell to Summer 2017 on Friday 29th September with Louie Vega, Dmitri from Paris and Roger Sanchez headlining, plus a live PA from the legendary Barbara Tucker. The Melon Bomb crew will also be making a special appearance. One not to be missed.
Ants @ Ushuaia Closing Party Saturday 30th September
Since the Ants team marched into action back in 2014, their weekly Saturday parties have become something of a cult like event for both islanders and residents alike. Their inimitable way of blending cutting edge techno music whilst showcasing some of the most relevant up and coming artists to the underground scene means that no party is ever the same. Add into the mix the mindblowing venue of Ushuaia, and fun, hands in the air sunshine vibes and you have a surefire winner. We expect that the closing party will be a roadblock so best to arrive early!
Acid Sundays @ Las Dalias – Sunday 01st October
A surprise success this summer has been the colourful, carefree and decidedly decadent Acid Sunday events at Las Dalias. The eclectic music selection from resident DJ and promoter Acid Pauli and his tribe of DJ´s artist and performers ensure that each and every week has brought more and more inspiring and uplifting vibes. We will be sorry to say goodbye to this event but look forward to more next year.
Cocoon Closing @ Amnesia – Monday 2nd October
The techno heads amongst you will be in seventh heaven here at the most dynamic, cutting edge underground music night which has been carefully curated by Sven Vath and his team of techno wizards. Having built up a loyal tribe of followers who return week after week, year after year to get down and dirty to the sounds of the underground, this closing is sure to go with a bang. This lineup for the season finale includes Sven Vath of course, Adam Beyer and Ilario Alicante, with a few special guests yet to be announced!
Flower Power Closing @ Pacha – Monday 2nd October
On a very different vibe, yet nonetheless as much fun, the original and most colourful Flower Power party on the island, Pacha reigns supreme when it comes to hosting this most vibrant of celebrations. Many have tried and failed to imitate the carefree, fancy dress vibe, but the Pacha events remain the biggest and the best. People of all ages don the highest platforms and sparkliest sequins in a bid to be the best dressed disco diva in town! A truly memorable party which will host its grand finale for 2017 on Monday 2nd October, with a 60’s and 70’s soundtrack provided by Dominique & Victor Nebot, with Willie Graff and Angel Linde keeping things soulful in the legendary Funky Room.
Circo Loco Closing @ DC10 – Monday 09th October
Of course no closing party blog worth its salt would be complete without mentioning the infamous DC10. For many, the closing of this iconic venue marks the ultimate party of the year. Promoters CircoLoco have enjoyed yet another astounding summer showcasing the very best of underground and techno musical talents. As always, the lineup is a closely guarded secret, yet we expect some of the usual suspects including Loco Dice, Jamie Jones and Tania Vulcano to be behind the decks!
