After a long a lazy winter the island of Ibiza is slowly beginning to wake from her seasonal slumber. And, as the temperatures rise, we have already noticed a huge increase in the number of holidaymakers on the island, enjoying the beautiful Ibiza weather. The fields are awash with flowers in a riot of colours, the land is fresh and green, and Spring is most definitely in the air.. So, if you are lucky enough to be spending April in Ibiza, here are a few of our top suggestions on places to go and things to see..

Art & Culture

If you enjoy the finer things in life, including of course, fine wine, then head to Sluiz, the fabulous homeware and interior store in Santa Gertrudis, which also boasts a fabulous bar and dining area, for their annual Wine Festival . This will be the seventh year of the event, held on 22nd April, which is organised in conjunction with Ibiza´s finest wine suppliers, Vino & Co. No one on the island knows more about wine than the owners of Vino & C, and they will be bringing their unrivalled expertise along with many of their suppliers, to showcase some of the finest wines available on the island. For an entrance fee of just 10€ per person, you will receive a wristband which will allow you to sample a taste from each and every stand there.. all in the name of culture of course!

For the art lovers amongst you, head to the legendary Anita´s Bar in San Carlos, renowned as being the very hub of the village. Here, local artist Timothy Cairns will be exhibiting his inimitable artworks from Friday 7th April. Take the chance to enjoy his paintings, many of which depict typical island life whilst sampling some of the infamous homemade hierbas, be warned, it’s rather strong!

Family Friendly Easter Activities

If you are spending the Easter holidays here and have children with you, then there are plenty of Easter themed activities to keep them entertained. Head to the beautiful setting of Aubergine in San Miguel, a natural, organic restaurant, with lots of land, where children can play safely and enjoy painting their own eggs, and an Easter Egg hunt on Sunday 16th April from midday. The adults can relax and soak up the atmosphere, live music and fabulous healthy food.

On the same day, LaMuella, the bar and restaurant on the San Joan road will have an open day, with Ibiza Kids Club are hosting the kids area. This will be a FREE fun filled day for all the family to enjoy on Easter Sunday. They promise to keep your Easter bunnies entertained with arts and crafts, face painting, entertainment, games and of course a big Easter Egg hunt! The bar and restaurants will be providing live music, food, entertainment, market stalls and much more. This party marks the season opening for this much loved venue so expect them to pull out all the stops.

Fine Dining

If Easter bunnies are not your thing and you prefer a more refined experience, then you are in luck, as many of Ibiza´s very best dining destinations open this month. We are very much looking forward to the return of the eternally popular El Chiringuito Beach Club, which re opens on Thursday 9th April, and promises an ever more divine selection of dishes to choose from this year. It’s easy to lose yourself amongst the whitewashed decor, and spend a long lazy Ibizan afternoon enjoying lunch then soaking up the healing Ibizan sunshine on the sumptuous daybeds. Undoubtedly one of our favourite spots, and undisputedly, one of the best restaurants on the island.

Another Ibiza iconic restaurant, Bambuddha Grove returns for another season of exquisite cuisine on Friday 7th April, with their very unique MeditterAsian fusion cuisine having won them thousands of loyal customers over the last decade. From sublime sushi to freshly caught fish and succulent meat, the menu is diverse and there is something or everyone. However, the whole experience of entering the restaurant is what really sets Bambuddha apart from the crowd. Anyone who has ever visited the Balinese style temple setting with its heavenly decor will know its an night you will never forget. We imagine that both of these events will be a sell out so be sure to book your table in advance.

Of course, we cannot mention a visit to Ibiza without throwing in a couple of parties, and there´s plenty to choose from in April, as the party season begins in full swing! We will be heading to Nassau Tanit Beach on Good Friday to enjoy the good vibes being spread by the now legendary Melon Bomb Crew. Dance under the sunshine on the beach to their unique blend of soulful, uplifting house music, and enjoy the carefree, unpretentious atmosphere.

For more of a night-time vibe, head to the iconic Pikes Hotel for their reopening fiesta, on Saturday 29th April. The scene of the unforgettable Club Tropicana video, Pikes has played host to some of the best parties in Ibiza, and this year looks set to be no exc eption. The opening will see a soundtrack provided by Artwork, , Rock Nights, Justin Harris, Brothers Grim, Harley Maxwell, David Phillips, Andy Wilson and Flamenco from Paco Fernandez plus of course the unmissable Bathtub Karaoke and Dressing Up in the Boudoir with Sunny. One party not to be missed!

To sum up, April in Ibiza will be simply Amazing.. With so many events taking place, the only problem you will have is deciding which one to choose!
