History
It’s hard to believe, looking at the superclub of today, that Pacha began its life as a dusty farmhouse set inthe grasslands of Ibiza and surrounded by goats. These were the humble beginnings of a lifelong dream of brothers Ricardo and Piti Urgell, and from this farmhouse the Pacha brand was born. The house became a party central hub for the bohemian set of the late sixties in Ibiza, with legendary parties attended by visiting artists and musicians rubbing shoulders with the locals farmers .
The parties quickly became big business and the first official Pacha nightclub was opened by the Urgells in Sitges just outside of Barcelona in 1967, with the natural move to their spiritual home of Ibiza following closely in 1973. The club quickly became the hotspot for the emerging nightlife scene on Ibiza, populated by hippies and flower power children seeking a place to express their individualism.
Pacha Today
Fast forward 30 years and the famous cherry logo presides over clubs all across the world, in far flung locations including Russia, Germany, England ,Brazil, Argentina, United States, Egypt, Lithuania, Rumania, Portugal and Austria.
These days the club is recognised as one of the most influential forces in dance music across the globe, showcasing upcoming talents alongside some of the most recognised names in the industry. Regularly full to capacity every night throughout the summer season, it is a must do on every clubbers Ibiza itinerary.
The Club
Divided into different areas, Pacha offers something to suit all musical tastes. The Main Room is dominated by the headline DJ’s such as David Guetta and Pete Tong. For a more groovy feel head to the famous Funky Room or El Cielo where the music is guaranteed to get you shaking your thang! Downstairs in the Global Room you can find a mix of progressive house, R’n B, hiphop and live acts, depending on the day of the week. The beautiful roof terrace offers a calmer environment and no one will ever forget seeing the beautiful dancers inside a enormous champagne glass! The exquisitely designed garden restaurant offers a private and glamorous dining experience, the perfect preparation for a night of dancing. With a wide and varied menu as well as an excellent sushi bar and cocktail menu, diners will be in seventh heaven.
Music
Summer 2014 sees a host of famous names returning to the Pacha stable as well as some newcomers. David Guetta returns to his immensely popular Thursday slot with his F**k Me I’m Famous party, and Solomun will continue to host the big Sunday night sessions. Tuesdays see the weekly Flower Power parties, a great opportunity to get your 70’s afros on and throw some funky moves! New night Aoki’s Play House looks set to draw big crowds every Wednesday, and the ever popular Pure Pacha parties are back on Saturdays.
